Today, all climate scientists accept that there is a deterioration in the global climate system. It is clearly stated that if the various human activities that cause the deterioration of the natural balance continue without taking the necessary precautions, climate changes will occur due to global warming. Climate change and the environmental problems of recent years compel us to work on solving human-induced problems in this regard.

The objectives we aim to achieve in our project, which we drafted to raise awareness about climate change at an early age and conduct preventive studies, are the following:

  • Develop environmental awareness and behavior in our students at an early age and prepare environmental action plans to be implemented in our institutions.
  • Increase our teachers’ awareness of climate change and environmental education by at least 50%.
  • Present products (presentation, manual) that raise awareness among our parents about climate change and environmental education.
  • Include nature in education through activities such as making toys with natural materials and planning educational activities in nature.
  • Raise environmental awareness and conduct joint studies through collaborative work within the framework of EU values.
  • Be able to use Web2 tools in environmental education.
  • Develop educational materials that may be of interest to our students and parents using Web2 tools.
  • Develop the collaborative aspects of the participants.
  • To develop EU citizenship awareness through participants’ cultural and social experiences, enabling them to learn different languages and improve their foreign language skills.

The results we want to achieve in our project:

  • Create environmental education action plans that can be implemented in kindergartens and implement environmental education in our schools as a joint EU study.
  • Creating teaching materials with Web2 tools that teachers will use in environmental education. Therefore, to provide education in a way that engages children.
  • Development of booklets and information brochures for parents.
  • Creation of a training booklet for teachers.
  • Development of sample activities and activity booklets for teachers. – Opening of project social media accounts.
  • Creating a YouTube channel and preparing content videos.
  • Placing project boards in schools.
  • End-of-project exhibitions (such as recycling, photography exhibitions).
  • Inclusion of action plans in schools’ strategic plans.
  • An e-twinning project that will cover the objectives of our project.

Our project, which aims to raise awareness about environmental education in kindergartens, responds to the priority we have chosen for early childhood education and the fight against climate change. The collaborative work of institutions from different cultures will allow participants and target groups to feel the EU identity, embrace EU values, and carry out activities that promote a shared environmental value.
