Erasmus+ K204: CoReVAX: «THE EFFECTS OF THE COMMON VALUES»
Despite all preventive measures, racism and xenophobia, and therefore violence, continue to spread rapidly in Europe and other countries.
This poses a risk to the peaceful life of societies. This is evident in the reports of national and international organizations.
For example;
- ECRI Reports. The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance has been established in the European Union, and ECRI reports are regularly published in all European countries, including Türkiye.
- UN Report on the «Human Settlements Conference». Article 36 of the Istanbul Declaration of the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II), held from 3 to 14 June 1996, states: «We therefore commit ourselves to promoting and achieving the goals of universal and equal access to quality education; the highest attainable standard of physical, mental and environmental health; and equal access for all to primary health care, making special efforts to address inequalities related to social and economic conditions, including housing, without distinction as to race, national origin, sex, age, or disability, respecting and promoting our common and particular cultures» and emphasizes the need to combat racism, discrimination, and xenophobia.
- Turkish Parliament’s January 2014 Report of the Human Rights Inquiry Commission
The objective of the CoReVAX project is to identify the common merits and values of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism in preventing racial segregation, xenophobia, and related violence; and to introduce the contributions of these values to universal culture, cultural pluralism, and the EU harmonization process.
Therefore, it is clear that humanity should do everything possible to achieve sustainable and permanent peace. Our project aims to achieve results in efforts to find real peace and demonstrate the possibility of eradicating racism, xenophobia, and violence. The most important contribution to the culture of coexistence and universal values can be achieved through shared religious values.
Every religion exists to add meaning to human life. It is not easy to achieve peace in the social, political, and cultural spheres without establishing peace in the religious realm.
The CoReVAX project, based on this truth, aims to identify the common values found in the sacred books of divine religions: the Quran, the Bible, and the Torah. Through the planned events, it will be revealed that, with the help of common values such as peace, tolerance, truth, forgiveness, rights, law, and security of life, property will be fundamental to living in peace for humanity. To center the human being above all else, and to consider the fact that religion is for the good of humanity as having great importance.
The project focuses on two objectives:
- General objective: To prevent racism, xenophobia, and violence; the common values of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism will be identified and their contributions to common peace, universal culture, and the EU harmonization process will be introduced.
- Special Purpose: Publish pamphlets to prevent racism and violence, build a website, conduct bibliotherapy sessions, organize symposia, conduct conferences, provide in-service training, prepare books, organize excursions.
